The Unknown Errors of Our Lives

2009

The central element of The Unknown Errors of Our Lives is constructed from15 used boxes that are stacked on top of each other creating a mini tower. The contradictory text running down the spine of the piece is from a toy magic eight ball--helping the viewer only if they already know the answer to their question.

Sprouting out from various points of the spine are faux crystal flowers and candles—some of which are burning bright, others in the process of slow inevitable fading.

Swirling around the base of the piece are piles of black ginkgo leaves, getting caught in the edges of the boxes and nooks of the frames cascading off the back of the piece.
